Virus Intruders Spyware Trojans Addware
Security Free of Charge
Increasingly, creators of computer protection software are beginning to
realise that the old ways of protecting against viruses are not sufficient
anymore when it comes to rootkits.
'What is a rootkit?', I hear you ask:

Your holiday snaps sorted
After each holiday I am confronted with the problem of ordering and naming
my photos in an accessible way. When I download the photos from my camera, I
am left with file names like DSC_xxx.jpg – not exactly obvious names for
holiday snaps to pass on to my friends and family.
A simple way to be rename files in Windows Explorer is to select your
photos, press "F2" and give one photo a name like "bitchyhead". Now, Windows
Explorer will rename the group with the pattern "bitchyhead (X)", whereby X
is a number sequence.

vi (pronounce: "vee eye", not "six", not "vye") the most erotic text editor ever so you better dont get me started on that one.
Yes, vi is a religion. More than that, it's a cult religion. It started out as a UNIX editor and has now become a Ubiquitous editor. Unlike, say, Microsoft Word, it can also give the illusion of magic. Watching a vi guru doing some heavy editing on a file, as her fingers fly over the keys and textual transformations sweep across the screen, one could believe that one is in the presence of supernatural powers. "Awesome", the audience murmur to themselves. Maybe.

In
real live i don't have time for short cuts. I rather want to enjoy
every single moment in it's intense length.
But
if it comes to computer I love short cuts. They make working so much
more efficient. and I can quickly go back to the enjoyments of life
where I don't want any shortcuts. Like me daily dosis of freshly
roasted and brewed Coffee in the Red Roaster Coffee House.

This list of special key combinations has been compiled for your
information. I cannot always verify the information so if there is an
error please let me know. I have not included special Finder keys or
standard CMD-SHIFT-# shortcuts because Apple has done such a good job
of documenting them in the Finder Help.

Notes on backing up entire hard disks or partitions
It's often useful to make an image of either an entire hard disk or an
entire partition. One reason is to duplicate an installed system onto
another PC (probably over a network connection); another is to make a
backup of your complete hard disk including every aspect of the installed
operating systems, which you can restore if you have to replace your hard
disk or if you screw things up. Typically it's useful to be able to transfer these
images over the network to another machine, although you may want to save
images onto a different partition or hard disk.

No time for Backup? But plenty of time for wailing especially when you urgently need your data. No need for that! Get yourself an extra (USB-)Harddrive. Here and now is not the place to bore you to death with cryptic command lines and longish scripts. I rather point out what you can do to safe your precious data.

The hotte$t pick
this year!
Spam was once an entertaining marginal
phenomenon. One bored commentator on virility enhancing pills was
surprised at the undaunted business offers from Nigeria. While penis
extensions seem to have become unfashionable, the C1ali$ and
V|a9ra-pushers are still trundling like Spam dinosaurs through
the net. They would have us believe we need these potent pills for
the ubiquitous willing ladies allegedly living next door – a
presumption which is extremely irreverent to my respectable 80-year
old neighbour.

OpenSource

What
is OpenSource?
It
all started several years ago. People were getting sick of badly
constructed software and didn't feel like being pushed by some
marketing guy into releasing untested software anymore - a practice
that, unbelievably, some software giants still adhere to today.
OpenSource allows everyone with an ambition to improve their software
to read the actual program code and change it. That's how people like
Richard Stallman went into programming, just for the sake of it. I
don't want to go into this in too much depth here but based on their
pioneering work, lots and lots of useful software has been developed
from which we can all now benefit.
And the best thing about it: We
don't have to buy a pig in a poke anymore, we can just donate a bit
or money if we feel are pleased with the product.

mean myself.
Unfortunately you cant click the links here therefore i made them all available on my website. http://www.geeks2rent.co.uk/ see Conny's Corner. There you will also find all articles for the KemptownRag.
